RAF BAKELITE ‘GOSPORT’ COMMUNICATION TUBES & EARPIECES, 6F/154

For sale are a brilliant set of RAF ‘Gosport’ tubes and earpieces, stores ref 6F/162 and 6F/154 respectively.
 
This set comprise fabric covered tubes with Bakelite and white metal ear pieces, intended for communication between pilot and co-pilot (usually in training aircraft, but also often used by FAA crew). Numerous pre-war photos show these in use, and this pair actually came from a 1935-dated Type B Flying Helmet.
 
The condition is excellent, with no visible wear to the tube’s fabric covering, and only light signs of pitting to the white metal. Excellent, visible stores reference markings.
 
A perfect set to complete an early war RAF or wartime FAA helmet.
