RAF 1936 PATTERN FLYING BOOTS - PRIVATE PURCHASE
SOLD
For sale are a superb pair of 1936 pattern flying boots, synonymous with the Battle of Britain. Size 7.
A private purchase example of the classic 1936 pattern, made to the same specification as the official Air Ministry issue, but in pebbled rather than smooth leather.
The uppers are in excellent condition overall, with only light scuffing and minor surface marks. Straps and buckles remain strong and serviceable. Fitted with their original leather soles, with minimal signs of wear.
The fur linings (usually the first part to deteriorate) are in very good order, with no bald spots or signs of moth damage. Both boots retain their leather puller tags, denoting ‘Style U6690’ and ‘Size 7’.
Overall a very desirable, well-preserved pair of boots, which would suit both the collector and reenactor alike. These are offered at a significantly lower value than equivalent Air Ministry-marked pairs would command in comparable condition.
