RAF 1933 PATTERN FLYING GLOVES - ‘BATTLE OF BRITAIN’
SOLD
For sale are a lovely ‘pair’ of RAF 1933 Pattern, straight-zipped Flying Gloves. 22C/266-27.
These gloves, famously associated with the Battle of Britain, are in absolutely superb condition. Though they are not a truly matching ‘pair’ - they are both left handed gloves - they look great together, and if thoughtfully displayed would make a great display.
Externally the gloves are in excellent condition, with very little wear to the chromed leather, save for some minor storage marks. One has a Lightning zipper and the other is AM marked, both complete with their leather pull tabs. Both gloves are identically sized at 8 1/2.
Inside, both gloves are again in superb condition, with crisp stamps indicating 1941 manufacture dates.
Overall these are a fantastic set of rare, Battle of Britain-appropriate flying gloves. Had they been a matching pair the price would be more than double.
I am happy to sell these individually, but I think they make a superb and affordable display piece as a ‘pair’.
