RAAF TYPE B FLYING HELMET, LASICA’S

For sale is a scarce example of an RAAF Type B Flying Helmet, made by Lasica’s. Size 6 7/8 (approximately a Size 1 or 2).
 
This Australian made Type B Flying Helmet is in excellent condition. Externally the dark brown leather is still nice and juicy, with only minor surface marks. The forehead strap works well, and both buckle and leather are sound. The chinstrap is complete and both sets of female poppers are free of corrosion.
 
The ear units on these helmets lack the inner donuts (like RAF-made helmets), and this one has never had any inner receiver cups installed. This is typical of examples found.
 
Internally the chamois is in great condition with only very minor soiling. A matching set of RAAF made frost protectors are installed, and markings can be found underneath one of them. I will let the buyer do their research.
 
The helmet appears to be size 1 or 2 and fits my standard male head with a snug fit.
 
Overall this is a great example of a RAAF made helmet, and not a common iteration to find.
